The larger part of my summer of 08 has been occupied working on two portrait commissions. Although working on figurative images may be interesting, I still find the sheer manipulation of paint, without regard to representation (house, boat, tree etc.), offers me the most freedom and creative possibilities. Paint and its inherent beauty becomes the object.
